If one of your yoga practice aims is to lose weight, first of all – you’re on the right track! Yoga helps to build muscle (remember: more muscle = more energy burned each day!), improve thyroid gland function, detoxify the body and build focus and determination levels! Many students have found success in weight-loss when teaming yoga with a healthy diet, and this is especially the case for hot yoga as it offers a more strenuous workout. So, what if we told you there is a way to renergise, rehydrate AND boost your metabolism after your sweat sesh? This juice concoction is perfect for after a sunrise practice and can replace your morning coffee! It offers an energy boost, extra greens, vitamins and minerals, improved digestion and a speedier metabolism to take on the day!
2 tablespoons of flavoured loose green tea (vanilla or citrus blends taste best!)
1 teaspoon matcha powder
In a teapot, infuse the green tea by adding boiling water to fill and leaving for a couple of hours (or overnight, if that works for you)
Remove skins from the lemons and the lime and add to a blender.
Add the remaining ingredients and the cold green tea from the teapot to the blender and blend until smooth.
Enjoy a cup each morning before breakfast, or whenever you feel you need an extra energy boost!
Keep in the fridge for up to a week.
With hot yoga, a healthy diet and this metabolism booster juice, your yoga journey is one step closer to your intentions and goals! Want more recipes and yogic weight-loss tips? Head to our detox site!
